Mike Flannagan, PresidentWith over 30 in real estate development and underwriting, I have contributed to the success of various renowned companies such as Bank of America and Toll Brothers. My unwavering drive and exceptional skills in underwriting, sales, sales force development, and financial management have played pivotal roles in startup initiatives, company growth, and profitability.
As the President of Virginia One Development, I oversee the management of our portfolio of ground-up development projects, focusing on multi-family communities. Additionally, I assist investors in analyzing and pursuing real estate investment opportunities.
My expertise lies in developing pro forma forecasts and financial models for large commercial real estate transactions. I also devise government funding strategies for investors and provide support in the development, submission, and negotiation of government proposals.
Notably, I have written and submitted complex proposals for millions of dollars in the Neighborhood Stabilization Program (NSP) and 9% competitive tax credits (LIHTC) in Atlanta, GA. Through these efforts, I have gained extensive knowledge of NSP regulations and Housing and Urban Development (HUD) guidance, enabling me to advocate for affordable housing and defend the use of NSP funds on behalf of investors and local governments.
My qualifications include certification from the Harvard Business School in Pro Forma Forecasting and Financial Modeling. I have also received training in the application process of New Market Tax Credits (NMTC) for mixed-use and multi-family communities.
Additionally, I previously served on the Loudoun County Housing Advisory Board and held a committee membership for the Housing Advisory Board on the Loudoun County Joint Trust Fund.
In addition to my professional endeavors, I hold the rank of Captain in the US Merchant Marines and am currently pursuing my private pilot license.
